DanceSport South Africa Breaking Judges Congress 2022
Calling all prospective Breaking Judges!!!
In 2021 the WDSF Three Fold and Trivium Judges Licence Certification process took place for the first time. Those who completed the Three Fold and Trivium Judges Licence certification process are qualified to judge WDSF Breaking For Gold events (Three Fold) and the WDSF World Championships and the Olympics (Trivium).
In order to meet the compliance standards of the WDSF, DSSA Championship events need to make use of Three Fold and Trivium certified judges. Currently, Elvina “Vee” Da Silva; Eugene “Genetics” Dennis; and Barry “Bear” Baumgart are the three South Africans certified to judge with the Trivium Judges system and would be eligible to be selected to judge at WDSF World Championship and Olympic level events. Apart from the WDSF compliance, familiarity with the judging process will also best prepare our South African athletes for the world stage and the philosophies applied during judging at WDSF Breaking For Gold events.
To grow the pool of qualified judges, and introduce the thought processing used in the Three Fold and Trivium Judging Systems, DSSA would like to invite those who wish to:
- build on and broaden their understanding of Judging of Breaking as a “Dance Sport”
- join the list of candidates who are qualified to judge DSSA Breaking Championships
- start the learning process toward eventually attend the WDSF Three Fold Judges Licence congress *
to attend the inaugural DSSA Breaking Judges Congress.
* The WDSF reserves the right invite only those attaining a pass grade of C+ in the Three Folds Judging certification examination to attend the Trivium Licence congress and certification.
The online discussion session will take place online on 23rd July 2022 between 12pm – 2pm, hosted by Barry “Bear” Baumgart with Three Fold and Trivium System co-founder Kev “Renegade” Gopie.
